    ISESCO Dircetor General underlines the need to combat all forms of religious extremism in Thailand 

    The Director General of theIslamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO), DrAbdulaziz Othman Altwaijri, underlined the need to combat all forms of religious extremism in Kingdom of Thailand, ISESCO Observer State; and called for strengthening efforts to entrench interfaith coexistence in the country.

    In the same vein, the Director General condemned the attacks against both Muslim and non-Muslim religious leaders and places of worship in Thailand, casting such attacks as criminal acts that violate international law and the Universal Declaration on Human Rights and calling upon Thai authorities to sentence the perpetrators to the harshest punishments.

    DrAltwaijri also welcomed the Thai authorities’ keenness to sustain its cooperation with the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) in order to achieve peace and security between the different components of the Thai society, and preserve their values of homogeneity and coexistence.
