ISESCO and Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives hold coordination meeting in Dubai on ways of cooperation to implement ‘Madrasa’ Project and ‘Arab Reading Challenge’ Programme

Today in Dubai, State of United Arab Emirates, the Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO) and Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives (MBRGI) held a coordination meeting to examine ways of ISESCO’s contribution to mainstreaming ‘Madrasa’ Project in remote areas in Member States and set new mechanisms to provide opportunities for Arabic teaching institutions in Africa to take part in ‘Arab Reading Challenge’ Programme.

The meeting brought together Dr Ahmed Said Bah, Director of External Relations and Cooperation; Mr Walid Al-Ali, Coordinator of ‘Madrasa’ Project; Mr Ayman al-Jarrah, Deputy Secretary General of ‘Arab Reading Challenge’ Programme; and Ms Laila Zebdeh, Coordinator of ‘Arab Reading Challenge’ Programme.

At the close of the meeting, the two parties agreed to coordinate and consult about nominating a number of primary and high schools in Member States to provide them with the project’s electronic equipment. They also agreed to enable a number of educational institutions in Africa to participate in ‘Arab Reading Challenge’ Programme for their first time since the launch of the project.

It is worth mentioning that ISESCO and MBRGI signed a cooperation agreement on 13 February 2019, which provides for cooperation and implementation of many sustainable development-related projects and programmes.
