    Al-Malik and Abdel Ghaffar review the preparations for the organization of the Executive Council and the General Conference of ICESCO

    Dr. Salim M. AlMalik, Director General (DG) of the Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ICESCO), met on Friday, November 12, 2021, with Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Chairman of the Egyptian National Commission for Education, Science and Culture, to discuss the preparations for the hosting by Egypt of the 42nd session of the Executive Council and the 14th session of the General Conference of ICESCO, from 6 to 9 December 2021.

    At the beginning of the meeting, which took place in Paris on the sidelines of the 41st session of UNESCO’s General Conference, Dr. AlMalik expressed his thanks and gratitude to the Arab Republic of Egypt for hosting the Executive Council and the General Conference of ICESCO. He also praised the approval of H.E. President Abdel Fattah Al-Sissi to grant his patronage to the General Conference.

    The two officials also reviewed the programs of the Executive Council and the General Conference, the lists of participants, and the preparations underway to ensure the success of these two events and the activities that will take place in parallel with them.

    For his part, Dr. Abdel Ghaffar stressed the need to intensify efforts to ensure the success of the upcoming sessions of the Executive Council and the General Conference in Cairo, and to ensure every comfort to the participants, adding that this is an opportunity to strengthen cooperation between Egypt and the Organization in its fields of competence. The meeting was attended by Dr. Abdelilah Benarfa, Deputy DG of ICESCO.
