    23 February 2022

The Education Sector of the Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ICESCO) held a meeting with the branch office of Hewlett-Packard (HP) in Morocco. The meeting aimed at discussing the implementation arrangements and plans of the partnership agreement between ICESCO and the American company in the area of educational technology.

During the meeting, held on Tuesday, February 22, 2022, at ICESCO headquarters in Rabat, the two parties emphasized the importance of joint action in serving the educational systems in vulnerable African countries, by providing them with the essential equipment, supplies and technological programs for the educational process. Joint efforts are also needed to build teachers’ capacity in the use of technology and support the development of policies and strategies that promote the integration of technology into education.

The two parties discussed HP’s support to some African Member States in ICESCO and agreed on a set of procedures necessary to translate this support into action. The company should equip several multimedia classrooms with modern technology means and provide online learning platforms.
