    ICESCO Director-General Receives Delegation from International Union of Muslim Scouts (IUMS)

    Dr. Salim M. AlMalik, Director-General (DG) of the Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ICESCO), received a delegation of the participants in the 1st University Students’ Forum on Intellectual Security, held by the International Union of Muslim Scouts (IUMS), in the Kingdom of Morocco, on Wednesday (June 22, 2022). The delegation was headed by Dr. Zuhair Ghoneim, IUMS Secretary-General, to discover the Organization’s areas of action, programmes and activities.

    During the meeting, Dr. AlMalik highlighted the main lines of ICESCO’s vision, which aims at turning the Organization into a beacon of civilizational outreach in the fields of education, science and culture. He also explained the Organization’s programmes and activities, which focus on rehabilitating women, building their leadership capacities, and training them on leadership in security and peace as well as entrepreneurship in technology.

    Dr. AlMalik stressed that ICESCO strives to contribute to keeping Member States up to date with the tremendous developments in modern technology and encourages the promotion of innovation. It holds workshops for the benefit of young people on artificial intelligence, space science, virtual and augmented reality “Metaverse”, and document tangible and intangible heritage through its inscription on the Heritage Islamic World List.
    For his part, Dr. Zuhair Ghoneim commended ICESCO’s efforts, encouraging students to participate in its programmes to enhance experience sharing, especially in the areas of digitization and technology.

    After that, ICESCO DG responded to questions of students, encouraging them to succeed in their professional paths by facing challenges, learning from mistakes and setting clear goals for their future.

    Afterwards, the delegation toured some of ICESCO’s new facilities, including youth training incubators and Mishkat Hall, which is equipped with the latest technologies for holding remote training sessions and workshops.
